Can I use a custom shortlink in my broadcast texts?

Yes! Numero supports custom shortlink domains for broadcast texts, allowing you to use a branded link instead of our default shortlink. Using a custom shortlink can improve brand recognition, trust, and deliverability, especially for high-volume or repeat sends.

What is a custom shortlink?

A custom shortlink replaces Numero’s default link (e.g. https://in.gi.vg/abc123) with a branded domain that you own, such as:

• https://give.yourcampaign.com/abc123
• https://txt.yourorg.org/abc123

Numero still generates and tracks the unique link, and only the domain changes.

When is it a good idea to use a custom shortlink?

Custom shortlinks are optional, but recommended if:

• You want your texts to clearly reflect your campaign or organization
• You’re sending at scale and want maximum deliverability control
• You want consistency across multiple texting accounts or campaigns
• You're sending for a nonprofit

If you don’t set one up, your account will use Numero’s default shortlink automatically.

How to set up a custom shortlink

1. Register your committee with Numero's Text Broadcast service
2. Choose your domain or subdomain
   
   Examples:
   • txt.yourcampaign.com
   • give.yourorg.org
3. Send the domain to the Numero team
   Let us know which domain or subdomain you’d like to use.
4. Configure DNS records
   We’ll send you the required DNS records to add where your domain is hosted.
5. Verification & activation
   Once the records are added within your domain settings, we’ll verify them and activate your custom shortlink.
6. Run a test send (recommended)
   Before sending to a full audience, we strongly recommend a test message to confirm everything is working as expected.

Important notes

• Only one custom shortlink can be setup per platform at a time
• Switching shortlinks requires coordination with the Numero team
• Link tracking, performance data, and reporting work the same as with default shortlinks
