How to Join Google's Verified Sender Program for Numero Broadcast Email

To protect political committees from spoofing and help ensure inbox deliverability, Google participates in a verified sender initiative alongside Campaign Verify. By completing domain verification, email senders using Numero’s Broadcast Comms tools can establish authentic committee identity and qualify for Google's Verified Sender Program in Gmail.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the program, your organization must meet the following criteria:

  • Organization Type: Candidate committees, party committees, PACs, or other political committees operating as 527 tax-exempt organizations.
  • Registration: Must be actively registered with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) or a recognized State, Local, or Tribal Election Authority.
  • Authentication: Sending domains used in Numero Broadcast Comms must have standard email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) properly configured.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

1. Complete Campaign Verify Identity Verification: Prerequisite for domain submission.

Log in to the Campaign Verify submission portal. Submit your political committee details for identity verification. Once approved, enter the PIN code sent by Campaign Verify to set your request status to Verified.

Note: If your organization already holds an unexpired, verified request from political texting verification, you can skip straight to submitting your email domain.

2. Submit Sending Domains to Campaign Verify: ***Live starting September 8, 2026***

From your verified Campaign Verify dashboard, navigate to the domain verification section and submit the official campaign email address/sending subdomain you use within Numero. Campaign Verify will validate the root domain ownership and pass this record to participating Email Service Providers (ESPs), including Google.

3. Verify Email Authentication in Numero: Ensure technical compliance.

Upon setup, Numero will ensure your sending domain’s DNS records are properly configured, including:

  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework): Authorizes Numero to send on behalf of your domain.

  • DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): Adds a cryptographic signature to outgoing messages.

  • DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication): Sets explicit policies for unauthenticated mail.

Note: If you've been emailing with Numero for an extended period of time and would like us to re-verify email authentication, please reach out to us at support@numero.ai
4. Automatic Processing & Approval: No token needed.

If approved, your email address is sent to participating email service providers nightly by Campaign Verify. It may take a few days for the email service provider to recognize your verified status. If you believe your domain was rejected in error, please contact Campaign Verify support (support@campaignverify.com). Once Google matches your verified sending domain with your authenticated Numero broadcast emails, your domain is incorporated into the Gmail Verified Sender process.

5. Set up a Google Postmaster Tools Account: Required.
New domains need to set up a Google Postmaster Tools Account. Learn how to create a Postmaster Tools account. If the domain has already been verified and someone already owns the Google Postmaster Tools Account, ask them to grant you access to the account. If you do not know who owns the account, verify ownership of the domain separately within Postmaster Tools. For more details, please visit Google’s Help Center on Postmaster Tools.

6. Comply with the Verified Sender Program Policies: keep your spam rate below 0.3%.
If users mark more than 0.3% of your emails as spam over a 14-day average, you will violate this policy. Read More.

How do I know if the domain is approved and in good standing?
You will be able to see compliance and program status in Postmaster Tools to verify inclusion in the program after verification. Program suspensions and terminations are communicated through Postmaster Tools. Learn more about the Compliance status dashboards.

Why This Matters for Political Campaigns

  • Improved Deliverability: Gmail uses Campaign Verify data as a positive signal when evaluating inbox placement versus spam routing.
  • Protection Against Impersonation: Prevents bad actors from spoofing your committee’s domain name during critical fundraising or voter contact pushes.
  • Visual Trust Indicators: Ensures your campaign emails display verified trust badges to Gmail users, increasing open and action rates.
