Why do I need a subdomain?
When setting up email with Numero's Comms Center, every one of your broadcasts will come from a subdomain, which is part of your root domain. For example, instead of numeroforamerica.com, a subdomain will be info.numeroforamerica.com. Subdomains provide a way to organize and manage your domain while maintaining a cohesive campaign identity.
Why are subdomains important?
Maintaining Sender Reputation: Your domain serves as a key indicator of the origin of your messages. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) rely on domain reputation to monitor your sending practices. Consequently, the reputation of your domain significantly influences the deliverability of your emails.
To maintain the integrity of your email communications and minimize the potential impact of past or future activities on your outreach via Numero's Comms Center, we require all committees to isolate your domain by creating a dedicated subdomain. This practice aims to enhance your outreach with supporters and also gives you a clear and organized way to manage your emails.
How is this different from sending emails from different names at the same domain?
Unlike individual email addresses, the reputation of your emails is not tied to their names but rather to the domain they originate from. For instance, both candidate@numeroforamerica.com and info@numeroforamerica.com are perceived as originating from the same domain by Internet Service Providers (ISPs), which means they are evaluated together regarding reputation and deliverability.
