How do I Find Matching / Duplicate Contacts in My CRM?

Users with the Numero CRM can use the Match Contacts filter to find contacts in your CRM with matching values. This filter will most commonly be used to find potential duplicates in your CRM, but could also be used for other scenarios where you would want to find contacts with a matching contact property value (such as same address, if you’re trying to group contacts residing in the same household).

The matching contacts filter identifies contacts by comparing the records' values for any combination of the following contact properties: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Address, City, State, Zip, Employer, and Occupation.

To create a matching filter:

  1. Navigate to your Contacts tab, click on the three dots next to the add filter button, and select Match Contacts

   2. Select the properties that you want Numero to use to find contacts with matching values for those properties. For example, if you choose First Name, Last Name it will yield contacts who have a matching first and last name.

If you add Email to that filter, then it would only show contacts who have a matching First Name, Last Name, and Email. The logic continues to narrow results for any amount of subsequent filters that are added.

    3. If you’re using the Matching Filter to find and merge duplicates, you can merge them directly from this page. Select the contacts that you want to merge, click Actions, then Merge Contacts. Remember that merging cannot be undone - learn more about merging contacts here

*NOTE* if you’re using this filter to find duplicates, you’ll need to sort the Name column after adding the matching filter. That way, the contacts with matching names will be next to each other, making it easier to bulk merge them together.
