How do I manually opt someone out of or into email broadcasts?
Most of your contacts will likely self-subscribe (via a Numero Action Form or an external sign-up form your committee manages) to receive emails from your committee OR self-unsubscribe ( instructions) when they receive one of your email broadcasts if they no longer wish to receive future email broadcasts from the committee. If they request you do it for them, you'll need to open the contact's profile in your platform and manually opt them out or opt them in per email address.
1. From the contact's profile, locate the email address you would like to opt-in OR opt-out and select the pencil icon (displays when you hover over the email)

2. Toggle the Opted Out option from NO to YES to Opt Out and YES to NO to Opt In. If you are trying to opt them out and the option is already toggled to YES then they have already opted out of your emails and have likely sent a duplicate request or they are still receiving your emails because they are within 10 days of their opt-out request. Email service providers have 10 days to stop all future emails once an opt-out request is received. Note that opt-out requests are per email address, so if they would like to be opted out of all emails on all of their email addresses, you'll need to repeat this process for each email present in the contact's profile.

To opt-out emails in bulk, you'll import all opt-outs as a Contact import. In the file you upload, include headers for the contacts' First Name, Last Name, Primary Email, and a column for 'Primary Email Opt Out Date' (see below). Include any date in the Primary Email Opt Out Date column to register the corresponding Primary Email as opted out or unsubscribed.
Once you have uploaded your file and your headers have been analyzed in Numero, map each column to Numero properties. As always, include as many Matching Properties ⌖ as possible to ensure the information appends to existing data in your Numero database.
